Project Cheesecake 101

Recently, i've been into making cheesecake. I am determined to outdo my mum in the kitchen department. My mum has a habit of buying lots of kitchen equipments and recipe books but she will never use them or try the recipes out. Hence being bored at home, i took few of the recipe books out and try to make something at least. =)

My first tryout was to make a Coffee Cheesecake, which unfortunately i failed miserably. Not only the cheesecake looked unappetizing, i also managed to burnt the electric mixer. =.=

But that did not deter me, i did not give up and attempted the second tryout after getting a brand new electric mixer of course. This time round, the cheesecake turned out to look more presentable and tasty too, though it was rather soft.

Coffee Cheesecake in the mould.

Tadaa!

Next up, Mango Chilled Cheesecake. =)

Woman, The Multiplier.

Heard this over the radio today which i found very hilarious and also very true.

Women are just like multipliers. They multiply everything you give them.

You give her a house, she'll give you a home.

You give her groceries, she'll give you a meal.

You give her a crap, she'll give you a tonne of shits.

HAHAHA...

p.s.: hey womanizer, take note there. you know who you are. ;p

Super Productive Day

I managed to wake up at 8.30am today despite sleeping at 4.00am.

Went for driving lessons at usual. Getting more improvement today, at least i can do slope, balancing, side parking and three point turn without any mistakes today. I am still kinda afraid to drive on the main road, seriously driving is not as easy as it seems. Talk about multi-tasking. I just hope everything goes well, as I only have 3 hours of lessons left before the test.

Came back home around noon. Weather was fine, so i did my whole load of laundry. Had lunch, collected laundry, and folded all the clothes.

Had a nasty quarrel with my mum yesterday, and so to redeem myself, i did some house chores without being asked. Swept the whole house, and mopped the floors. I seriously hate sweeping the floors. I guess my mum hates it too cause the floors were so dirty, she probably did not sweep it in the whole week. Anyway, that's a great workout. Imagine sweeping and mopping while doing karaoke and dancing to club hits.

Rested for a while, then proceeded to prepare dinner. Now look who's saying i can't cook? Been helping my mum to prepare dinner almost everyday, unless I am out and on weekends. Yes, weekends are my off day. I am practically working as a maid at home. Now, i realize i am such a domestic goddess. Training to be a good wife perhaps? ;)

Planned to go for a jog, but it was getting late so i settled for 100 push ups and sit ups at home instead. Super proud of myself for being able to do all that. Well, i am not one of those who are very discipline with their exercise regime. So its consider good effort today.

Right now, i am so busted i am going to bed early tonight. Today, i truly understand the meaning of early birds get the worm. Planning to go watch movie tomorrow. Most probably alone. Unless someone wants to accompany. So call me if you are interested.

RIP, Yasmin Ahmad

A few days ago, i was only chatting to a friend when she informed me that critically-acclaimed director, writer and scriptwriter Yasmin Ahmad had suffered a massive stroke and was in critical condition. Today morning, i woke up to a SMS from the BF informing me that she had already passed away. I said a silent prayer.

Many of you may not know who Yasmin Ahmad was, but you will probably recognize many of her work. Some of her most popular work includes TV commercials like the Funeral, Family, Tan Hong Ming In Love, the many touching advertisements we saw during festive seasons by Petronas and award-winning movies like Sepet and Gubra.

Some of my personal favourites:-

Initially, I was not a big fan of Malaysian movie productions. But after watching Sepet, i was totally hooked. The story was well written, the movie well directed. Though many deemed her work as controversial as it crosses cultural-barrier, it brings smiles to us with its humour and touches our hearts with its love, messages and values. All her work are so touching, i often cried watching them. If only all Malaysians are as open minded and sensitive to the surroundings like her, i believe Malaysia will be a much better place to live in.

It is the first time ever i felt so sad over the death of someone unrelated to me. Correction, Yasmin Ahmad was related to all of us, to all Malaysians. She speaks our mind and touched our hearts. Malaysia has indeed lost a great talent.

Hello Blog!

So I am BACK in blogging action...

Been MIA for a while. Was being lazy and busy with loads of stuffs. So to basically sums up, here's some of the stuffs i have been busy-ing over:-

1) Driving lessons (boy, i do have some stories to tell regarding my 1st driving experience).
2) Spending quality time with my beloved friends and family.
3) Movie marathons.
4) Partying.
5) KL trip.
6) Partying.
7) Bangsar shopping spree.
8) Spending quality time with the BF and getting the much needed TLC i have been deprived from.
9) And more partying...

My liver is practically gonna die from the copious amount of alcohol i had been consuming the past few days. And the lack of sleep too. Right now, my skin is all dry and flaky already so i need to go and slap some facial mask on my myself. And getting some precious sleep too. So updates and pictures later on. Stay tune... =)

The Day I Nearly Died Twice

I went for a friend's 21st birthday party last Friday. There's one thing i cannot seem to understand, why must everyone celebrate their 21st with loads of alcohol and get themselves so fucking drunk? Seriously, want is the point? I sincerely and truthfully would not want to celebrate my birthday as such. No alcohol, no clubbing. I've been planning to go all English and have a tea party instead. Healthy and clean. No vomits and drunk asses to clean up after party. =)

So back to the story, the whole bunch of us ended up playing some dumb card game thanks to Wei Han. We were suppose to choose a poker card and stick it on our forehead without seeing what we've got. And then, everyone have to pour a bit of the available drinks on the table into a glass. The loser will need to drink up the deadly concoction. Drinks we had on our table that night were Hennessy, Martell, Chivas, JD, Absolut Vodka, Bailey's, Sheridan, Guiness Stout, Carlsberg, mixers and god knows what else. So you can imagine how deadly the drink is when u mix a bit of everything in it. After the 'cocktail' is mixed, everyone will show their cards and that's then and there you will know your own card. The loser will be the person with the smallest/biggest card depending on what's pre-decided. And holy shit, i really do not have any luck with poker at all. Cause i had downed 3 glasses of it. Nearly got totally wasted.

With my eyes blood shot red and nearly a goner, i cant possibly go back home. And so, i decided to go straight up to Genting with my friends. Half way, i can't breathe at all. My chest hurts and i tried hard to breathe. Thank god i am fine after a while...

And so, we continued our journey up to Genting Highlands. On the way up, it started raining and stupid David was driving like Jensen Button. Once at the curve point, the car skidded and my heart just stop for a few beats. We were totally so lucky that the car did not bang any dividers and the car behind us did not hit us so we were quite safe. I really thank god that nothing happened to me if not i really have no idea how i am going to explain to my parents on how i ended up dying in Genting Highlands when i am suppose to be at a birthday party at Pekan Nenas, Johor. Neway, its not like i did not have any explanation to do when i am much sober. Pissed my dad off a bit for that, but it was well worth the journey and adventures as i get to meet my dearest and spent an amazing time with him even though its only for 2 days. =)

p.s: Am missing you a lot already if you are seeing this and hopefully we can we see other soon again.
